Buscándote

Vagar...
Con el cansancio de mi eterno andar,
Tristeza amarga de la soledad Ansias
enormes de llegar.
Sabrás...
Que por la vida fui buscándote,
Que mis ensueños sin querer vencí
Que en algún cruce los dejé.
Mi andar apresuré
Con la esperanza de encontrarte a ti,
Largos caminos hilvané
Leguas y leguas recorrí por ti.
Después que entre tus brazos Pueda descansar,
Si lo prefieres volveré a marchar
Por mi camino de ayer.

-

Wandering...
With the exhaustion of my eternal rovings,
With the bitter sorrow of solitude,
With overwhelming anxiety to reach you.
You should know
That I have spent my life searching for you
That I conquered my dreams without wanting to
That I left them at some crossing.
I pushed ahead
With the hope of finding you,
I hurried down long roads
Miles and miles I covered for you.
Afterwards in your arms I can rest,
But if you want I will head out again
On my path of yesterday.

WTF

[Thanks to Mtnhighmama for this most incredibly sensuously fucked up video.]

beautiful

(Where in the world am I going to find the other two songs???)

tenacity

One way to win a match in Judo is by pinning (for as long as 25 seconds) your opponent onto his back. The "rule" is: you are in control of your opponent if s/he cannot escape without your release. When the referee sees the start of a pin, he extends one arm, palm down, and utters "Osae Komi."

In this video, the aggressor quickly turns his opponent onto the mat (amazing control). The opponent fights with everything for as long as he could. You can see that, exhausted, his left hand just drops down to the mat (what a symbol!), at the end.

...

It is so easy to give up. There had been hundreds, if not thousands, of times when I had given up. (To be fair, I had also been stubborn enough to tough through many moments.) On the other hand, perhaps it's good to know when to fold...

Anyway, I wonder, how come I have not once wanted to give up the Tango. (Maybe I just haven't been in it long enough?)

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I knew you would come through. I just knew it!

How did you know that I really wanted this, instead of the way-cool-folding bicycle? Never mind. You know everything. I guess this means that I was a good boy last year.

I love you.

relaxing

A couple of years ago, as I immersed myself into the Tango, a colleague threw herself into West Coast Swing. I showed her mine, and she, hers. I really like this song, Sometimes, by B-TRIBE. Reminds me of Sofa Rockers (Richard Dorfmeister Remix), by the Sofa Surfers.

I feel extremely cool.

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good boy this year. I brushed my teeth every day. I took out the trash. I clean the bathroom every week (except when Lomyl was away). I drove responsibly and carefully, even though sometimes I wanted to yell at the knuckleheads on the road. I ate organic food as much as I could.

As you know (of course you do, you are Santa Claus!), I am a sucker for gizmos. And, well, this bicycle (I am sending you a Youtube video, just in case) is simply the most-coolest-awesomest bicycle E. V. E. R. You know how it's such a pain-in-the-butt to carry all those full-sized bicycles in your bag? Well, not this one. Anyway, I am hoping that you have noticed my being good this entire year, and, gosh, I would be so happy if I could have the coolest bike on the block.

With much love and adoration,

Me.

hooked

major goosebumps...

[thanks to Joe at the topic is tango and his wonderful alternative playlist.]

dance with me

i have always wanted to spontaneously jump up and dance with my best friends... just because.

a couple of years ago, lomyl and i were at new york's penn station, having rushed there, and then missing the train. i was upset that we had to wait for the next train. she was upset that i rushed her. bad bad bad!!!! i took out my ipod, connected our headphones to it, and we danced in the corridor until our hearts spoke to each other again.
