dear diary,
after the song, my partner notices that i am smiling.
she: "what? what did i do now?"
me: "huh? i am having a great time."
she: (still doubting) "oh... ok."
me: "it's hard to smile and not smile at the same time."

i get this ALL THE TIME. i am smiling because i am content/happy/goofy. and people around me think i am laughing at them. i think i say "i am smiling because i am very happy right now" at least once a week at the milongas.

imagine what happens when you laugh out loud..! while dancing! i have this problem....
yup. i know what you mean. happens all the time with me. my body convulses, and they, because of our connection, feel every freakin vibration.
thankfully, it's contagious.
The important thing is to be clear and to smile only for the one and same reason. A practice partner once told me she knows it when she makes a mistake, because of my smile. She knows I wouldn't smile for any other reason.
dear anon,
yeah... this would be most difficult for me. the smile comes from so many reasons.
sometimes it would be because one or both of us goofed, and it is a funny moment.
sometimes the smile comes because i feel that we both hear the music in the same or complementary way.
sometimes because one or both of us tried something interesting cool and it worked.
